The grounds are fairly nice. The Show ground society need to invest the money back into the place, the amenities are well aged as is the pool area. Two of the poles holding up the shade top over the pool are badly rusted and need replacing before someone gets injured. However they are more likely to just close the pool off and spend nothing. The best thing about this place is the caretaker Helen a very nice person.

Lovely spot peaceful outlook stayed 3 nights..good base for exploring nearby parks. Only negative was a neglected black dog that came in nightly looking for food, water & affection..lovely nature..we fed & watered him daily as well as removing ticks. Spoke with caretakers/managers they were hesitant to call the pound as dog would possibly be euthanised but very confronting for our family made our daughter very upset seeing an animal in that state. Posted on community pages to raise awareness with locals. Please keep an eye out for its welfare..it really is very sweet.

We spent time here both on our way to Darwin and back, 7 days each time. Great shade under the trees or under a canopy. Water and power to sites, sullage to a tree. Don't dump it straight onto the ground, you idiots. The next person does not want to park over your sullage. Think! The restaurant was okay (on out first visit) but the swarms of flies put us off. It was not open on our last visit due to the end of season. Pool was sublime. Toilets were clean. Not much in town. Not much of a town. Food prices extravagant. Fuel prices the cheapest on the Stuart! Dump point in town.
