I don’t free camp with my caravan but if I wanted to this place would be it! So quiet apart from the birds and the sheep on the hill. I called in to see the wind farm and enjoy the views over the dam. Further on is the view of the dam wall itself. Just turn off and have a break or just a look or camp ! It’s gorgeous!

Great place to free camp. Cold showers, flush toilets and a bbq area. We went for a walk through the pine forest that is part of the dam, and there is also a fishing, boating platform. We were close to the water, had a ground fire and used our campoven. Great for all generations and pet friendly. Also plenty of shade. There was, speed boats, kyacks, knee boards and kids swimming all at the same time over the Easter weekend, and there was no issue for space on the water. Good safe enjoyable environment.

A great place to visit or stay. Beautiful scenery, great fishing. There is a toilet block with cold water showers only so I would suggest being self sufficient while camping
