2 weeks agoTequila Sunrise Hostel offers a welcoming and hassle-free check-in experience, with a friendly reception team ready to accommodate requests. They even left a personalized welcome note on my bed, which added a warm, thoughtful touch. I also appreciated that they granted my request for a lower berth. The beds are neatly prepared, complete with a fresh towel and bedsheet. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and fully stocked with essentials like toilet paper, shampoo, and soap. Do note that laundry facilities are available, though only from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, so plan accordingly. One highlight of the stay is the complimentary breakfast and dinner. The meals are simple but satisfying, and the one-hour serving window encourages you to arrive early for the best experience. The kitchen also offers free coffee and tea, which is a great touch for backpackers. A small tip: if you’re storing items in the fridge, remember to bag and label them with your room or bed number. The hostel fosters a wonderful social atmosphere. I met fellow travelers from Argentina, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, all of whom were friendly and enjoyable company. Video games and board games in the hallway add to the communal vibe. The bed is cozy, with a locker provided beneath—just remember to bring your own padlock. Tequila Sunrise is also ideally situated, within walking distance of pubs, clubs, and even a casino, making it a great spot for those looking to explore the local nightlife. Overall, Tequila Sunrise Hostel combines excellent hospitality with a vibrant, international atmosphere, and the welcome note on my bed truly made me feel at home.

a month agoThe best hostel I’ve stayed at since arriving in Australia. The rooms are spacious, and the common areas are very pleasant and comfortable. The price is very reasonable, especially since it includes both breakfast and dinner. Thank you so much, I will definitely come back!

2 months agoThe most worthy of praise is the service attitude here! Last night when we arrived, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and our questions were addressed promptly. However, the double bed we booked was only available on the top bunk of the large 40-bed room. We had no choice but to try and stay. It was probably too many people so there were people coming back late to pack up at every hour of the day, including the wee hours of the morning, and I barely slept all night last night. And my friend was complaining about the strange sour smell of sweat. Also, the upper bunk was steep, so we felt unsafe every time we climbed up and down. The next morning we talked to the male staff on duty (maybe the manager? Sorry didn’t note your name down) to raise these issues, he checked the availability on the computer and without a word moved us to the bottom bunk of a small 10-bed room. Since we were in a hurry to get to the meeting point for our day trip, he was very helpful in moving our luggage to the new lockers within three minutes - a faster and more positive response than I have ever seen even in a high star-rated hotel! Plus complimentary breakfast and dinner each day and basic bathroom amenities are definitely a great benefit! The mattress is thick and firm and comfortable, and the bed has a nightlight, socket, and open storage cabinet. The disadvantage is that the building has a very historical feel, which means that the room facilities are old. As there are only mixed-gender dormitories, it will be more dependent on the quality of your roommates.

a month agoOur time in the Tequila Sunrise Hostel was very nice especially because we found many cool peeps! Most of the staff is very friendly in particular Diego, he is the best of them! He was always in a good mood, very nice to talk with him and he even remembered our names! 🤩 So the hostel can be really happy to have him as a staff!

2 weeks agoI didn't like the hostel. The bed capsules are nice, but the drawer under de bed was not working properly (even though there are signs everywhere that you have to put all your stuff in the drawers!!). The communal areas are way too small. It is very very busy all day, when dinner is ready there is no place to sit down to eat, people are eating standing in the hallway. When we came back for dinner a bit later (hoping there would be more places available) almost no veggies were left and we only had rice with potato smash. We wanted to do some laundry in the morning because we would be away all day, but laundry is only available after 1 pm and no places to hang your clothes to dry. Breakfast is very limited, cheap and very busy again. Toilets and showers were good! I can imagine the hostel is good for people who like to be surrounded by people all the time and have a low budget (free food) but for me it was the worst hostel in Australia I've stayed in so far.
